The Graduate School is committed to the quality and relevance of the graduate education offered at the University of Nairobi. In addition, the Graduate School mandate is as indicated below:

  • Formulation and regular review of the policy framework for graduate studies to ensure effective and harmonious coordination among the internal and external key role players.
  • In close liaison with academic units, co-ordination of graduate syllabi and regulations; admission of graduate students; coordination of supervision of graduate programmes; and processing of graduate theses, projects and dissertations.
  • Sourcing and administration of graduate scholarships and research grants.
  • Ensuring general welfare and discipline of graduate students.

The entire spectrum of disciplines offered include: Arts and Humanities, Biological and Biomedical sciences and Physical sciences. The high quality education is reflected by the quality research being undertaken and nature of publications put in the market per year. Teaching and research is mainly carried out in the respective Departments and is described in the websites pertaining to a particular Department.
