The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the United Kingdom is offering Eighteen (18) PhD and Nineteen (19) Masters full scholarships to Kenya citizens tenable in 2023. The awards are tenable at any approved UK University of Higher Education Institution which the CSC has apart-funding agreement.

Online application will be opened on Tuesday, 6th September, 2022 and closed Tuesday, 18th October, 2022.

Eligibility

1. Master’s Study

a) Proof of Kenyan citizenship

b) Bachelor’s degree – at least 2nd class upper division from a recognized university with strong academic background

c) Supporting statements from two (2) referees

d) A proposal in the area of study clearly showing the potential impact on the development of Kenya

e) Quality Study Plan  f) Below 35 years of age

2. PhD Study

 a) Proof of Kenyan citizenship

b) Master’s Degree from a recognized university with strong academic background

c) Supporting statements from two (2) referees

d) One supporting statement from a supervisor in a UK Institution

e) A proposal in the area of study clearly showing the potential impact on the development of Kenya

f) Quality Study Plan

g) Below 45 years of age

Application procedure

All eligible candidates must read and adhere to the following guidelines strictly:

1. Complete the online application to Commonwealth Scholarships Commission in UK. Details of how to apply for these programme are available on the CSC’s website: cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk/aboutus/scholarships.

 Download and print the completed online application form before submitting it electronically to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).

 2. Obtain PRELIMINARY APPLICATION FORM from the Ministry of Education, Directorate of University Education offices located at Teleposta Towers, 27th floor room 2702.  The application forms can also be downloaded   from the Ministry’s website: http://www.education.go.ke/.  

3. Complete the preliminary application form. Attach the required certified supporting documents (certified photocopies of ID, academic/ professional certificates, transcripts, Birth Certificate, Passport, other testimonials), a proposal in the area of study and   a copy of the online submitted CSC application form.

4. Submit three (3) sets of the hard copy of Preliminary Application form from MOE and CSC application form with all the certified copies to the Directorate of University Education on the address: Director – University Education, Ministry of Education. P.O. Box 9583 – 00200,NAIROBI OR Deliver to Teleposta Towers, 27th floor, Room 2702 during working hours between 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.  

5. Copies of completed applications should reach the Ministry not later than 26th October, 2022 by 4pm GMT.
