David Mokenye Onywoki, a first year Civil Engineering student, was invited to speak at The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Special Projects Dinner. The event was hosted by TRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex KG GVCO at Bagshot Park, Surrey in London on Tuesday 24th November 2015.
This special very intimate dinner was for supporters of the Special Projects which aim to avail the Award to more young people especially the marginalized and underprivileged. He spoke about his experience with the Award, which is known as The President’s Award- Kenya in our country, and how it has impacted his life.

During his time at Nyeri High School, he led a team which comprised of his fellow students that taught inmates at King’ong’o Maximum Prison in Nyeri. He delivered a stirring speech and the guests committed their continued support for the Special Projects.
