The South African National Research Foundation invites applications for its doctoral and masters bursary programme.

Applicants must be South African citizens, and permanent residents of SA or citizens of Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia.


The World Academy of Sciences invites applications for its TWAS-CNPq postgraduate fellowships.

Researchers from developing countries, other than Brazil, may apply. Fellows receive a stipend of BRL 2,200 per month for PhD studies, to cover a maximum period of four years.


The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa invites applications for its democratic governance institute grants. African PhD candidates or scholars in their early career stage may apply. Participants have access to the facilities of a number of documentation centres in and near Dakar.


The Department for International Development invites proposals for its UK aid connect call.

Non-governmental organisations, UK-based non-profit organisations, UK-based small and diaspora organisations, companies, and local government organisations may apply.

More than £1 million is available to fund consortia.


The US Agency for International Development invites applications for its green infrastructure for water security programme. US and foreign organisations may apply.
