The University of Nairobi held a Council Induction Retreat from 24th to 26th June 2026 at Travelers’ Beach Hotel in Mombasa, for members of the University Council and Senior Management.
The opening remarks were given by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayub Gitau followed by remarks by the Chair of Council, Prof. Chacha Nyaigoti-Chacha.
There were various presentations from difference sections of the university that included Governance of State Corporations and Application of Mwongozo, University Compliance and Regulatory Oversight, PSC Regulations and Disciplinary Appeals Procedures, HR Instruments for Public Universities, Presentation of the University Strategic Plan (2023-2027), Academic Affairs (AA) Division Presentation, Research Unit Presentation, Finance, Planning and Development (FPD), Human Resource Directorate Presentation, Legal risks exposure and impact on governance at the University of Nairobi, Audit and Risk Management Status Report and Advancement Strategies and progress of Engineering and Science Complex (ESC) and University Foundation.
