1. COMMENCEMENT DATES – 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR
The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all first year (2012 K.C.S.E.) students that the commencement date for the 2014/2015 academic year is 6th January, 2014.
2. TUITION FEES
(i) ALL STUDENTS except Diploma students, shall each pay tuition Fees of Kshs. 16,000/= per year, before or on the registration day, made up as follows:
- Kshs. 8,000/- Direct Charge for which needy students may apply for Bursary from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Kshs. 8,000/- for which one may pay direct or apply for a loan from HELB.
The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Jacob T. Kaimenyi, in consultation with the University of Nairobi Council has appointed Prof. Henry W. Mutoro as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs.
The appointment is effective October 14, 2013.Prof. Mutoro, has been serving in the same position in an acting capacity since May 2013 when the previous holder Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Education.
Before this appointment, Prof Mutoro was the Principal, College of Education and External Studies; a position he held for nine years. Prof. Mutoro is an Associate Professor in Archeology. He studied at the University of Nairobi for his bachelor and master degrees before proceeding to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for his doctoral studies.
COLLEGES OF HUMANITIES & SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HEALTH SCIENCES
The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all those students from the above two Colleges who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2012/2013) and members of the public, that the 50th Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 commencing at 9.00 a.m. at the Chancellor’s Court next to Central Catering Unit, Main Campus.
