General Requirements:

 

1.      The student must be in session (belong to the cohort of students who are allowed to be in session at that particular semester.

2.      The student must be registered in the given semester via SMIS - This is especially important for postgraduate students who may be doing research with no coursework.

3.      The student must have paid full fees or have been put on programme for installment payment. For Students on an installment programme, they must be up-to-date with their payments.

4.      The validity of the facilitation is one month and renewal is subject to meeting the above requirements.

 

NOTE:

Please note that once enrolled on the Soma na Telkom Enhanced (Madaraka Tarriff ) you are entitled to 15GB and 20GB for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students respectively. In addition to the above, the Madaraka Tariff gives you 1GB and 100 Minutes on a monthly basis. 

(1). First Years/First-time Applicants

  • Confirm that you meet the General requirements above.
  • Update ‘Myprofile’ on the student smis portal. The student to ensure that he/she provides all required data including National ID number/Birth Certificate number and selects the nearest Telkom shop.
  • You will be notified via email and SMS once the SIM card is ready for collection. 

(2). Students already on Enhanced Soma na Telkom seeking Bundles Renewal

  • Confirm that you meet the General requirements above.
  • Fill the ‘Renewal of resources for enhanced Soma na Telkom data bundles form’. The link to the form will ONLY be available on the student portal after registering for the courses. 

(3). Students who filled the ‘Soma na Telkom Enhanced Data Validation Form’

  • Confirm that you meet the General requirements above.
  • Be patient as we undertake the verification and validation process.
  • You will be notified via email and SMS once the SIM card is ready for collection. 

(4). Students who have NOT filled the ‘Soma na Telkom Enhanced Data Validation Form’

  • Confirm that you meet the General requirements above.
  • Fill the ‘Soma na Telkom enhanced students data validation form’ below.
