The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has opened the mobile phone system for the Undergraduate 2020/2021 Loan Applications. HELB has announced that subsequent Undergraduate loan application via the HELB App ➡️https://t.co/xqZISB9Gh8 will be awarded based on previous loan allocation. Students who may experience a challenge with the HELB App or don’t have smartphones have been advised to apply for the Undergraduate 2020/2021 subsequent loan via USSD *642#
The HELB's objective is to give financial support to needy Kenyan students in local institutions of higher learning. A student is required to pay Kshs.50,000.00 per year to train at a public university. Out of this amount, HELB can award a maximum loan of Kshs.50,000.00 and a bursary of Kshs.8,000.00. The HELB currently does not provide loans to students studying outside the country and those on Self-Sponsored Programmes (commonly known as the ‘Parallel Programmes’).
