University of Nairobi is Ranked the Most Popular University in Kenya and East Africa

University of Nairobi has been ranked as the most popular university in Kenya. This is according to uniRank in their latest publication on the 2023 African University Ranking of the top 200 recognized higher-education institutions in Africa meeting the following uniRank selection criteria:

Prof. Leonidah Kerubo Appointed as Acting DVC Academic Affairs

Prof. Leonidah Kerubo has been appointed as acting DVC AA as Prof. Julius Ogeng'o proceeds on annual leave. The appointment was announced by the Vice Chancellor during the 250th Senate Meeting that was held on Friday, 12th January, 2024. Prof. Kerubo is the Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology and in her absence Prof. John Onyari will be acting as Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology.

Prof. Patrick Verkooijen Appointed as Chancellor of University of Nairobi

President, Dr. William Ruto, has appointed Professor Patrick Verkooijen as Chancellor of the University of Nairobi. He will formally take up the role on 1st February 2024.

Professor Patrick Verkooijen is CEO of the Global Center on Adaptation, the foremost international organization dedicated to the challenge of adapting our world to the global climate emergency.

SCHOLARSHIPS: JOINT PHD PROGRAM AT UoN & GHENT UNIVERSITY, BELGIUM

We invite you to apply for a Joint PhD University scholarship at University of Nairobi, Kenya – Ghent University, Belgium on the topic ‘Improving the quality culture of Maziwa Mala Value chain in Kenya with focus on mycotoxin reduction. A research stay at CNR-ISPA, Italy, is included as well.

Nine PhD students will work in a complementary way to contribute to the building blocks, each with a specific focus on a fermented food value chain.
