The University's Annual Sports Day 2023 will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Chancellor's Court from 7:30 am. All staff and students are invited.

COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES FOR ALL SEPTEMBER 22ND, 2023 GRADUATES

All Graduates of the 69th Congregation for the conferment of Degrees and award of Diplomas held on September 22, 2023 are requested to collect their certificates from the University of Nairobi Central Examinations Centre, Chiromo Campus starting from Wednesday, October 18, 2023 to Friday, December 1, 2023 in the following order:

SEALING OF CERTIFICATES

The University of Nairobi Council met on Thursday 21st September 2023 at 2.30 pm at the New Council Chamber 19th Floor University Towers. The meeting was Chaired by Prof. Amukoa Anangwe and all members of the Council were present. The Council approved the sealing of 3,983 certificates for the 69th Graduation Ceremony that was held on Friday 22nd September, 2023.

MARTICULATION CEREMONY

On Thursday 28th September, 2023, at the Taifa Hall, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama addressed 11,836 first year students who were admitted into the 2023/2024 Academic Year. He was accompanied by Deans and Associate Deans from the eleven Faculties, Chairmen of Departments and Directors. The Master of Ceremony was the Academic Registrar.

Students admitted into Module I were 6,932, Module II 4,491 and Inter-University Transfers were 413.

OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE WANGARI MAATHAI INSTITUTE OF PEACE & ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

In a significant event, Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya inaugurated the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies at the University of Nairobi's Upper Kabete Campus. The institute, named after the renowned Nobel Peace Laureate Prof. Wangari Maathai, is poised to collaborate closely with the government to tackle climate change-related challenges and resource conflicts in Kenya and the wider region.
