University of Nairobi is a partner of an EU-funded program to support intra-Africa mobility at Masters and PhD level. The program is open to 4 universities only, University of Nairobi, University of Lagos, University of Rwanda and University of Witwatersrand.
Master of Sustainable Management and Operations (SuMO) is a new two-year masters level program that is being offered at the Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi, in collaboration with Kuehne Logistics University, Hamburg, Germany. The scholarships are offered through the Africa Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Operations for Resource Management and Food Supply (SCO) established with the financial support of DAAD.

Professor Migai Akech's inaugural lecture titled "Taming the Tyranny of the Barons: Administrative Law and the Regulation of Power" delved into a fundamental concern that has animated him since childhood: the routine and aggravating displays of power abuses that permeate our daily lives, both in private and public realms. From arbitrariness and condescension to corruption and violence, these manifestations of tyranny erode the very liberties and livelihoods we seek to protect through our societal institutions.
Prof. Migai Akech will deliver an Inaugural Lecture titled, “Taming the Tyranny of the Barons: Administrative Law and the Regulation of Power” on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the University's Taifa Hall.
Prof. Akech is a renowned legal scholar and expert in administrative law. His lecture promises to provide invaluable insights into the role of administrative law in regulating the exercise of power by government agencies and public officials, often referred to as the "barons" of the administrative state.
The University of Nairobi and the University of Copenhagen recently received a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark within the Danida Fellowship Centre framework for the project entitled: “Improving milk and Chicken meat quality and safety in the Kenyan food Sector (QUALIFOOD)”.
