COMMENCEMENT AND REPORTING DATES

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform the following groups of students (Module I and Module II) that the commencement and reporting dates for the 2022/2023 Academic Year are as follows:

MONDAY, 19TH SEPTEMBER 2022 - FIRST SEMESTER A. YEAR I UNDERGRADUATES OF THE FOLLOWING FACULTIES:

i) Faculty of Agriculture (FAG)

ii) Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS)

iii) Faculty of Build Environment and Design (FBED)

iv) Faculty of Business and Management Sciences (FBMS)

v) Faculty of Education (FED)

ONLINE REGISTRATION BY NEW STUDENTS

The online registration portal will be opened on Monday 22nd August 2022 AND NOT 12th September 2022 as indicated in the Joining Instructions.Students will undertake Online Registration on the Student Portal – smis.uonbi.ac.ke. New Students are advised to take advantage of the early opening of the portal and ensure that they are registered and ready to report physically for the commencement of the Academic Year on Monday 19th September, 2022 at their respective Faculties.

GANDHI SMARAK NIDHI FUND - MASTERS SCHOLARSHIP: 2022/2023 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi fund (GSNF) will offer a limited number of partial scholarships tenable at the University of Nairobi, for Masters Programmes during the 2022/2023 academic year.


Interested candidates are invited to apply/re-apply for the scholarship through our online application portal (https://gandhi.uonbi.ac.ke) from Monday 1st August 2022. A non-refundable application fee of Kenya Shillings Two Thousand Only (KShs. 2,000.00) will be charged to be paid through MPESA services.

UoN FOUNDATION DRIVE

The VC, Prof. Stephen Kiama on Monday, June 20, 2022 went round on a sensitization and mobilization agenda. He met members of staff from different faculties ahead of the upcoming launch of the University of Nairobi Foundation on Thursday, June 30th, 2022. The goal of the Foundation is to support the University in fulfilling its mission of teaching and learning, research, and community service through the mobilization of funds using established legal and professional fundraising tools.

UoN AND DAMU-SASA PARTNER ON A PROJECT THAT SEEKS TO IMPROVE BLOOD MANAGEMENT SERVICES IN KENYA

The University of Nairobi was confirmed as the Public Research Organization for the Research and Development (R&D) Impact Project - a project conducted by the Damu-Sasa blood services management system - a cloud-based system that supports blood sourcing, inventory management, transfusion management, haemovigilance, referrals and deferrals. 

LAUNCH OF UON FOUNDATION - JUNE 30TH 2022

We are pleased to announce the official launch of the UoN Foundation to be held on Thursday,  30th June 2022 at the Chancellor’s Court from 5:30 pm. As a prelude to the launch, the UoN Foundation board of trustees will be hosting a dinner to raise the foundation’s seed capital at the Great Court on June 23, 2022.
