The University of Nairobi Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi has called for closer ties between Kenya and China so as to enhance more exchange of knowledge and skills. Speaking during the handing over of the University of Nairobi’s Ksh 1.4 billion Confucius Institute, Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi said that the University’s resolve to make the world a better place, can not be shaken despite the many challenges and the corona virus pandemic. She took the opportunity to thank, the County Government of Nairobi for the many concessions made during the construction of the building complex.

The occasion was also graced by the Honorable Cabinet Secretary of Education Prof. George Magoha,Chair of Council, Prof. Julia Ojiambo, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama and other dignitaries.

The new building complex is located along the Arboretum Drive, Nairobi and will now be home to faculty/administration offices and lecture halls for the staff and students in the institute. The Vice Chancellor, requested the Chinese Government to consider the construction of the Ksh. 100 million bridge that will allow easy access to the building from Chiromo and Main Campus.
