HELB waives application fees for the Non-Loanee Compliance Certificate

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced the waiver of non-loanees compliance certificate application fees of Ksh. 1,000.00.The fee was levied to all applicants of the certificate of compliance irrespective of whether you are a loanee or not. This comes as a great relief to thousands of job seekers who had to part with their hard earned money to receive a certificate from an institution they never engaged with during their university studies. This therefore means all non-loanees will receive certificate free of charge. Other compliance certificates that are required during job applications are Certificate of Good Conduct, Tax Compliance Certificate etc.

Comply with Home-based Isolation & Care Guidelines for patients with COVID-19: Prof. Kiama

The University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Kiama has directed all staff and students who test positive for Covid-19 to ensure full compliance with Home based isolation and care guidelines by the Ministry of Health. Prof. Kiama in his communiqué to the University community announced that there has been 14 confirmed positive cases and several deaths due to corona virus disease. The Ministry of Health launched the Home based isolation and care guidelines for patients with COVID-19 on 10th June 2020. The protocols have been developed in line with the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. The guidelines have been developed taking into consideration the local socio-economic situation and they have been translated to Kiswahili.
