Installation of the 8th Vice Chancellor of University of Nairobi

It is hereby notified to the staff, students and general public that the installation of Prof. Stephen Gitahi Kiama as the 8th Vice Chancellor of University of Nairobi will be held on Friday 5th of June, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Vice Chancellor is the academic and administrative head of the University and is responsible to the Council for maintaining and promoting the academic image and maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order of the University. Professor Kiama is a Kenyan veterinary surgeon and academic who, effective 3rd January 2020, became the 8th Vice Chancellor, University of Nairobi. He holds an earned doctorate degree in Structural Biology from University of Bern in Switzerland. He is an accomplished scholar with proven track record in formulating and managing academic programs and on research and publication. He has over 16 years’ experience in management and leadership positions at the University of Nairobi.

Iran in bid to set up Nanotechnology Centre at the University of Nairobi

Iran is bidding to set up a Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Centre at the University of Nairobi. The facility to be put up is to concentrate on research of all aspects of computational nanoscience, and to help promote the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology across the country and around the region. This was revealed during talks between the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama and the Ambassador of Iran to Kenya H. E. Barmaki, which will bring in Iranian universities to actualize the project.
