Education CS announces that phased reopening of universities will start in September

Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has announced that phased reopening of universities will start in September 2020 under strict guidelines, ending a four-month closure occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic. The CS however directed that reopening of universities for face-to-face sessions will be on a case-by-case basis based on approved compliance with Ministry of Health Covid-19 protocols. Prof. Magoha added that universities should continue conducting online teaching and graduations.

Review fiscal & education policies due to socio-economic effects on children ~ Dr. Andrew Riechi

Dr. Andrew Rasugu Otachi Riechi calls for an urgent review of fiscal and education policies so as to address the socio-economic dimensions affecting the lives of children in a myriad of ways during the Covid-19 pandemic. He states that‘’ Due to prolonged confinement, children are being separated from their peers and teachers and deprived of socializing activities, including sports.
