The University has been supporting needy students through variuos avenues. Since the beginning of the FY 2022-2023, over 700 students have requested for support. The University supported 181 needy students with bursaries and scholarships from our partners. Additionaly, over 500 students have been placed on the University work study program. However, with more and more students requesting for support, these interventions are not adequate and there is the fear of some students opting to defer their studies.
To mitigate these challenges, the University has organised a Compassion Day on December 7, 2022 to mobilize resources to support needy students. The theme for this year's event is 'Caring for the needy students' which is in line with the University's core value of 'Care'.
