PLACEMENT OF THE 2019 KCSE COHORT TO UNIVERSITIES & COLLEGES

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has sent invitation to all the 2019 KCSE candidates who scored a mean grade of C+ and above to apply for placement to universities.

Consequently, the online placement system was opened on, Monday, February 17, 2020 for application and revision of choices and will close on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 5.00 pm.

Orientation for the First Years 2020 in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences

The orientation for the First Years year 2020 (KCSE 2018) held their orientation program in the days 20th of January 2020 through to 25th of January 2020. The programs climax was a public address by the directors, principals, deputy vice chancellors and the Vice Chancellor on 24th January 2020 in the Taifa Hall. The fresh men and women were urged to make their parents proud by excelling in their studies at the UoN. They were warned against misuse of their freedom and to stay away from bad company.

Death announcement of the long-serving UoN Academic Registrar, Mr. B. W. Waweru

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Benard Maina Waweru (B. M. Waweru) who was until his death, the Academic Registrar of the University of Nairobi.

He was interred on Friday 10th January, 2020 and a memorial service was held on Thursday, 16th January 2020 at St. Paul’s University Chapel. 

May God rest his soul in eternal peace.

Exams Centre hosts a party in honor of retired long serving members of staff

The Central Examinations Centre (CEC) members of staff held their end-of-year party on December 08, 2019 at Maxland Restaurant along Waiyaki Way. The party was also in honor of the retired long serving members of staff in the Examinations Section Dr Adelaide Mbithi, Mrs Jennifer Odhiambo and Mrs Rosalind Muratha. In her speech, Dr Mbithi who served the university for 30 years thanked the staff for cooperation and support she enjoyed at the CEC and requested that the same be extended to the incoming head of the section.

Meeting with the VC on UoN Website Policy & Strategies

The Vice Chancellor (Ag) Prof Isaac Mbeche held consultative meeting on Website Policy and Strategies on Friday December 05, 2019 at CCU. The meeting was attended by the DVC in charge of Academic Affairs Prof Julius Ogeng'o, Director of ICT Centre Mr Paul Kariuki, Director of Public Communication Mr John Orindi, ICT staff and all university web admins/support officers from all the colleges.

Academic Registrar Signs the Performance Contract for the 2019/2020 Financial Year

The Academic Registrar signed his performance contracts with the Ag. Vice-Chancellor for the financial year 2019/2020 on Monday 4th November 2019.

 Prof. Isaac Mbeche, Ag. Vice-Chancellor, said that the performance contracts were in line with the 16th cycle performance contracting guidelines for FY 2019/2020, which informs the university’s corporate performance contract which was negotiated and vetted with the government on September 11, 2019.

MOI KIPSITET GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL VISIT UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

80 students from Moi Kipsitet Girls Secondary School accompanied by their two teachers were taken through a guidance and counseling session on 16/08/2019 by the undergraduate Admissions team led by Salome Abuuru. The girls were given an orientation on the various colleges that make the University of Nairobi and the details on the courses offered.
